About Mia

Hello! I’m pursuing my Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work. Both of these graduate degrees are nurturing and training me to become a competent clinician who is also sensitive to the spiritual and religious needs of individuals. I hope to work towards obtaining my LCSW, and eventually be EMDR certified.

Trauma erodes our sense of self and identity. I believe innocent, platonic touch is an essential part of healing from that erosion. With boundaries, training, competence, and gentleness, I believe innocent touch can provide a sense of nurturing and healing to individuals who are seeking tenderness and innocent-care.

Whether it is a recent loss of a loved one, loneliness, grief, or simply the desire to be known and heard, sometimes in life what we need is someone to hold our hands in a safe space.

In our sterilized world which so brazenly flaunts touch that is everything but nourishing, simple, and safe, I hope to cultivate a culture that shows that innocence is paramount to how we operate in this world. What a beautiful thing it is to offer kind-care to others in order to assuage loneliness, isolation, and a plethora of ailments perpetuated by Western culture.

Session information from Mia

I will always do my utmost to ensure that the space for our sessions is safe, clean, and inviting. I conduct sessions either on the couch of my living room, or at the client’s home. I have two cats, and am located in Connecticut, near New Haven, but am willing to come to you for a small travel fee. In addition to cuddling, I focus on active listening and self-empowerment.

There’s something beautiful and cathartic that happens when a friend holds our hands as we go through a life transition, a stressful time, etc. What a beautiful thing it is to create spaces where innocent, platonic, tender-care can be a tool for empowering others to heal and grow. Hugs are a safe way to teach ourselves to be gentle and compassionate– not just to others, but also to ourselves.
