About Adele

Pronouns: She/her

I have been a touch enthusiast my whole life – from receiving light “back tickles” from my parents to soothe me into sleep at bedtime, to trading massage with my fellow thespians as a teen, to belonging to touch-positive community in my young adulthood, and then into a longstanding career based on safe, sane and consensual touch – touch and relationship are my life’s path.

As a devoted, self-identified “Snuggle Bug,” I’ve thrived in official Cuddle Party™s, made cuddling into a regular part of my friendships, led touch-workshops, and am now pleased to join the Cuddlist team to offer 1-on-1 sessions here.

Q. Why Cuddling?

A. Cuddling helps to fulfill one of our basic human needs: connection.  It also produces the hormone oxytocin, often referred to as the “bonding hormone.” It’s a feel-good hormone that helps with deep relaxation and connection.

Here is some *Science!,* if you like: https://www.heartmath.com/science/.

Q. What’s special about the Cuddlist Container?

A. In these sessions, with the use of the Cuddlist Code of Conduct, we have an opportunity to (as strangers), have clear boundaries that allow us to connect as deeply as possible, within the context of sweet, heart-centered, consensual touch that feels good to both of us. There is a high value on communication and awareness in each moment, to maintain that co-created and sacred experience – that can create so much freedom! for exploration, playfulness, and authenticity.

Q. Who is this for?

A.

• Parents and/or caregivers who are constantly tapped to be resources for others; if you want to balance out “receiving” with “giving”

• If you have poor sleep

• If there are high levels of stress in your life

• If you feel incessantly busy

• People in relationship with individuals who equate “cuddling” with upleveling intimacy; those who relish the simplicity of falling into heart-centered connection with no expectations of anything else

• Single people seeking to develop their awareness around attuned and mutually delightful touch

• Avid cuddlers who just love it and want more!

• Previous participants of Happy Humanimals, Cuddle Party™, or other touch-oriented group events that would like to hone their skills of asking for what they want, negotiating, relaxing into touch, or other “sticking points”

• Potential participants of Happy Humanimals, Cuddle Party™, or other touch-oriented group events that feel tentative about their negotiation and/or touch-related skills/comfort, that would love to practice 1-on-1 with a professional, first!

• Adults of all genders, races, cultures, ages, sizes, orientations, physical and mental abilities* (Please let me know in our introductory call if you have special needs to be considered to “meet you where you are at”)

• You, if you are drawn! (If you have further questions or excitement AND reticence, know that a (free) introductory call is a required/standard part of my screening process; you can ask whatever’s on your heart-mind!)

Q. What is unique about my cuddling practice?

A. I am able to introduce a certain type of breathwork that works with polyvagal theory, and shifts the nervous system from “stress response” into “calm and connect” or “rest and digest” (from the Sympathetic to the Parasympathetic nervous system, if you wanna geek out!) In and of itself, this is an amazing “downregulating” and “self-soothing” technique. When this breath is breathed in tandem, it’s like a *double-hack* to the nervous system, allowing us to entrain with one another, and let each other know that “we’re OK” – that it’s safe to relax, let go, enjoy the connection.*
*If “breathwork” of any kind gives you increased anxiety, we can let go of this.

Q. Who are my favorite clients?

A. (Those who are fully onboard with the Cuddlist Code of Conduct – non-negotiable)

Those who are respectful, sincere, kind, “coachable,” curious, vulnerable/authentic, have access to their words.

Q. What if I have unprocessed trauma around touch?

A. Please hold off on setting up a session with me. While I am “trauma-aware,” deep and/or unprocessed trauma is not in my wheelhouse, and I want you to have the best healing possible! My highest recommendation would be to reach out to a Somatic Experiencing professional, to help with unwinding the trauma in your body. You may consider Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Certified Cuddlist Anna Joy.

Personal Philosophy/Mission Statement

Bliss is your birthright. Contentment is counter-cultural (bigger/better/faster/more). If we have our basic needs met (including touch), we will feel more contented, feel “enoughness,” and “need” less of this material world. Ecologically-caring, emotionally-fulfilling, economically-sound is this cuddling…

Q. Where do I go from here?

A. If my profile seems resonant to you, please fill out a Contact Form, and we can connect over a (free and required) call to discuss your intentions for working together, ask any questions you might have of me, and we can co-decipher resonance for moving forward with scheduling (or if I may have an alternate recommendation).

Feel free to view some Cuddlist videos in the meantime!
